Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com For a change. John Wayne made a lighter comedy, and some of his scenes with Claudette Colbert are fun to watch. Rated: B- Mar 26, 2011 Full Review John J. Steve D Without Wayne it would be fun. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Audience Member With hindsight, it's clear to see John Wayne's tough guy acts throughout the latter part of his career were much more suited to him than playing a leading romantic man as he does here. The comedy element of the farcical trip to the west coast is the strongest part of this film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review ashley h Without Reservations is an entertaining film. It is about Kit Madden who is traveling to Hollywood, where her best-selling novel is to be filmed. John Wayne and Claudette Colbert give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written. Mervyn LeRoy did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama, humor, and romance. Without Reservations is a must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member John Wayne ,Don DeFore & Claudette Colbert ,are strangers who meet on a train. The two Marines end up on a silly, unplanned Adventure, with Christopher Madden, A.K.A. Kit (Claudette Colbert) hiding her identity as a Writer of the book that Rusty(John Wayne) despises. She is trying to get Rusty (J.Wayne) to play Leading Man in a Movie of her book.A series of circumstances have them traveling in a car cross country together. He finds out her true identity & gets angry, she goes to Hollywood, blah blah, blah.Predictable but delightful Film with a stellar cast. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member "He says that I'm the one thing saving him from being a misogynist. That means, a gentleman that doesn't like beetles." After watching a few scenes of this on television, I decided to rent it and see it through. And, for the first 40 minutes, this film is pretty solid; it feels like it's going in a certain direction. Starting off as an 'intellectuality versus practicality' romance, the picture just degenerates in to a boring, puppy-love/jealousy character tango... pretty disappointing. (And 'Dink' is just plain annoying.) "[That's not what a man wants,] that's what a man remembers!" Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Enjoyable Romantic Comedy/ Road Movie, though the third-act is fairly flawed.
