Katie Walsh Tribune News Service The greatest aspect of "Wolf Totem" is the gorgeous, sweeping cinematography that captures the landscape in breathtaking aerial shots and crystal-clear color. The story has its touching moments but dissolves into disjointed melodrama. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 14, 2015 Full Review John Semley Globe and Mail Something ends up lost in translation. Its aspirations of looking and feeling recognizable end up uncomfortable and embarrassing. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 11, 2015 Full Review Sheri Linden Los Angeles Times There's no denying the beauty of the film's imagery, violent and tender, or the emotional power of the final moment in the boy-and-his-dog love story. Sep 10, 2015 Full Review Uri Klein Haaretz This attempt to say something about the struggle between humans and wild animals is too bombastic and unfeeling. Jan 10, 2018 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Warns us that an old-fashioned way of life is passing to an encroaching civilization. Rated: B- Jan 24, 2017 Full Review Theresa Smith Independent Online (South Africa) While visually stunning, this Chinese French collaboration is melodramatic and narratively disjointed. It is a man-and-his-dog story meets outsider-learning-to-appreciate-a-new culture story, just set in a place unfamiliar to Western audiences. Rated: 3/5 Mar 2, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews

Sandra W I couldn't take my eyes away, even though some scenes were so hard. Fascinating. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/10/24 Full Review Audience Member Not your average stoner flick. A true crime story with relatable characters and good pacing. I felt engaged the whole time, with the only apparent shortcoming being the acting, which isn't that bad really. If you like grass, you will probably find this interesting on more than one level. I would recommend it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the great movie and must watch and I love the direction Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member While the story and the actors are doing a good job of keeping us enthralled to the screen for almost 2 hours, there's no denying that it is the scenery that is the true star of this movie. It's dazzlingly serene and vastly empty, which is something we should cherish deeply where ever we may still find it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie worth watching, visually enchanting, fantastic photography, true story although the adaptation from the book obviously had to leave something out. Incredible training of 35 wolves that took 4 years...for this reason alone the movie is worth 5 stars. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member 7.0/10, my review: http://wp.me/p1eXom-2PG Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
