Joe Leydon Variety Wu Jing's record-breaking Chinese-produced action-adventure gives audiences plenty of bang for their bucks. Aug 12, 2017 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com Wolf Warrior 2 lectures you, pummels you, and then expects you to cheer. Rated: 1/4 Aug 7, 2017 Full Review Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter Wolf Warrior 2 is even bigger and bolder than its predecessor, which doesn't always work in its favor. But genre fans will definitely relish the near constant barrage of elaborate set pieces that are choreographed and filmed for maximum impact. Jul 27, 2017 Full Review Jamie Healy Radio Times The underused Grillo does get to wipe the smirk off the face of Wu's cocky yet charmless hero in their eventual showdown, but it's small consolation in a film that signs off with the promise of a further, interminable sequel. Rated: 1/5 Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Vadim Rizov Filmmaker Magazine The film is alternately inadvertently hilarious and genuinely exciting as an action movie; things could be much worse. Jan 5, 2023 Full Review Ed Travis Cinapse Wolf Warrior 2 is a gargantuan box office phenomenon that most westerners will never even hear about. And I love that part of this story. I just wish Wolf Warrior 2 were a better movie to back up that exciting box office. Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

lance c I watched on Amazon, no subtitles were available in any language & I do not speak Chinese, but it was still relatable and a great action movie with novel fight sequences Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Good action movie that was better than the first one and sets you up for the next sequel. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Bob R Better than the first but not by much... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/19/21 Full Review Audience Member Wolf Warrior 2 (Rental) is the highest grossing Chinese movie (at this point in time) and is the basis for "wolf warrior" diplomacy. It is in essence a version of Rambo III, set in Africa with a late 1990s direct to video feel and ex-Chinese special forces protagonist. The action scenes sometimes work (the underwater opener and the man v tank showdown) but some are just over the top craziness. It is pro China (in the way most films are pro USA) but it may not be a bad thing, as long as you try to live up to idolized version of your county as opposed to justifying your own actions. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This is one of the most boring action movie I have ever seen and pretty loaded with Chinese propaganda. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Everything about this sequel to Wolf Warrior exceeds the first. The acting, the special effects, the story- all an improvement over the original installment. Wu Jing returns in this sequel. He also wrote, produced, and directed the film. The film surrounds Wu Jing's attempt to live a peaceful life in Africa when he his peace is disrupted by a mercenary army and a deadly disease outbreak. One of my criticisms of the first film was that I did not feel Wu Jing commanded the screen as the lead. Nothing could be further from the truth in this one. Rather than playing a Jackie Chan-esq character, Wu King finds his own as a compelling, interesting, and exciting action star in this one. He is very good. As for the supporting cast- Frank Grillo is always fun to watch. He appears to be the hardest working action star/character in the world. His fight with Jing in the finale of the film is well choreographed. Celina Jade is commanding as the love interest. Nwachukwu Kennedy Chukwuebuka steals every scene he is in as Jing's "Godson". This movie was one of the highest grossing pictures of all time. Sam Hargrave, martial artist, stuntman, and Director of the highly successful "Extraction, stunt choreographed the underwater fight as well as many of the action scenes. This explains a lot about its success. This one is worth watching. The ending foreshadows a "Part 3" and I hope it is at least as good as the sequel.
