Carla Hay Culture Mix Ever get the feeling that some movies were made only so the filmmakers could do misogynistic and exploitative torture scenes? The horror flick Women (written and directed by Anton Sigurdsson) is one of those garbage movies. Jun 6, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Jeffrey P Maybe tries to do too much, pulling double duty as both a game of cat & mouse between a detective and killer, as well as a tale of captivity. Spends too much time on the villain who is neither interesting nor clever enough to serve as the lynchpin that holds it all together, and that makes all the other characters seem less intelligent. Ending was splmglmph. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/26/23 Full Review Regina P You have to give the audience something in the end. Something. Anything. The character that was chosen to be the last one standing wasn't even a character that we were really allowed to make a connection with or develop any deep feelings toward. Positive or negative. We understand her as a survivor. The story gives us two main protagonists and one real antagonist. Then we have a character who has learned to survive in her circumstances. The ending that was chosen just leaves the viewer in such limbo... there's an understanding of what just happened, but no real satisfaction. It just is. Perhaps that is a more realistic ending, but then you have to ask what was the point of cultivating an emotional response to everyone else in the film.
