Panos C Despite the earnest and heartfelt chapter 'Second Chances' — anchored by lovely performances from J.K. Simmons and Maria Kavogianni — 'Worlds Apart' is not doing anything new; it's a pretty average movie and hits the familiar story beats you'd expect from a romance movie with social commentary goals. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a nice film, the ending was a tad bit cliché in my opinion and that's what ruined it a bit for me. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member It a great movie to watch. It starts slow but it picks up nicely and it feels very real, loved it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best, yet underrated movies out there! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review chris n Expecting lukewarm tales of romance I instead found a gripping inside look of the current political and economic turmoil in Greece, a subject largely overlooked on this side of the globe. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member There was so much potential in this movie that would have made for a great and impactful story. Although it has a nice message it kinda lost its power by the end. It still is a very positive move forward for the Greek cinema and Papakaliatis sure proved he can make good cinema. Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times It's an often tender, affecting film that slowly creeps up on you - then completely takes hold. Jan 19, 2017 Full Review Owen Gleiberman Variety It can't help but come off as a bit diagrammed. Yet the movie is onto something: what happens to a society when "ordinary" life begins to get stripped away. Jan 14, 2017 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter The writer/director [is] so intent on hammering home his thematic points that the situations and characters seem contrived merely to underline them. Jan 13, 2017 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson “Worlds Apart” earns the investment required of its audience to observe the building of bonds that may or may not be set up to be broken. Rated: 4/5 Jun 26, 2022 Full Review Mark R. Leeper Mark Leeper's Reviews In Greece it can only be more relevant today than when it was made. Rated: 7/10 Apr 4, 2017 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Powerful, engrossing and provocative with just the right blend of truth and spectacle. It's the rare kind of film that has a heart, mind and soul intact. Rated: 9/10 Jan 13, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews
