Russ A movie you've never heard of, and there is a long ton of reasons why. Gary Cooper is completely miscast; his wooden "method" if you can call it that is only good in old Westerns. This is one of the few times that Charlton Heston is the best actor in a film's cast. You do get to see Richard Harris in one of his early roles. Just when you think the film's ending will hinge on courtroom drama during the inquest, it switches back to action at sea for a rushed and unconvincing conclusion. The whole thing is a late 1950's Poseiden Adventure. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/07/23 Full Review martin a This is a fantastic film, with an outstanding cast. The story starts with a salvage crew finding a ship afloat damaged but with a mad man aboard or so it seems, and from there the story unfolds about the crew abandoning the ship and attempting to blow it up for the insurance. They stop the ship from sinking and ground it, it then ends up going to a court for investigation and the poor captain is not believed.
