See more Dave S 10/02/2022 Other than a couple of decent jump scares and some nice scenery, Wrecker, a blatant rip-off of Steven Spielberg's Duel, doesn't have much to offer. Two young women on a road trip find themselves pursued by a maniacal tow truck driver who torments them relentlessly with bad intentions along winding mountain roads. Technically, it's all a bit of a mess. There are far too many pointless POV shots, endless continuity problems, annoying editing, way too many close-up shots, and what appears to be a large number of overexposed shots. But the real problem rests with logic. It would seem that the two protagonists throw their reasoning skills out the window, not taking advantage of numerous opportunities to escape their tormentor, the most obvious being the fact that a high-powered Mustang GT should be able to simply speed away from a large tow truck on a mountain road with sharp turns and significant inclines. Like the two women, logic was apparently taking a holiday as well.
