Audience Member Ye Liu is awesome in the role of Lao San as a (somewhat) mentally-disabled former soldier who dispatches petty criminals with glee. I found this film interesting because the central character is really quite unique. Furthermore, the film isn't about his brain damage in the way Rain Man is about autism. The rest of the movie is pretty average. Sometimes the story doesn't quite make sense, characters appear were you least expect them, they act in a way that goes against character, they say some corny lines, and all those other things Chinese action movies do so well. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member haha, the movie isn't that great, but the two girlfriends in this movie are really hot, and main character always makes me laugh... It's kind of messed up that I laugh at him for being slow from his training accident, but hey, I can't help it... Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Forest Gump sauce HK. L'histoire est lente et la prestation du hà (C)ro-naïf pas transcendante non plus. Reste une première partie intà (C)ressante et toujours une photographie bien cadrà (C)e. Bof. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Really quite nice Mainland production that balances off what could have been the usual treacly sentimentality and simplistic romance very well. Anthony Wong gives Liu Ye a more than equal dramatic counterpart, and Yu Rong-Guang lends him more sympathy and depth as the would-be knight's Navy C.O. Things did not play out in quite the predictable manner I had feared, and I found Liu Ye's performance surprisingly compelling in the end.
