Audience Member Lame sorta funny Trevor Noah special. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Trevor Noah's natural instinct to deflect and bluff means you'll get little insight into the man (versus say Harmontown which lays Dan Harmon bare) but in place of feeling is a litany of fact. The story of Trevor's background, his history and his sharp rise through South Africas nascent stand up circuit post apartheid, together with a glimpse of his nations turbulent race politics make for a complelling documentary. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing background to the comic genius Trevor Noah. The personal and political are both part of his comedy and this film shows him calmly confronting situations that would petrify most of us. We get to meet his South African mother and grandmother who are both truly admirable people. During the making of the doco his mother was actually a victim of a serious crime and it's frightening what the outcome could have been. This is one of the serious moments in the film that allow us to see where Noah came from and truly opened my eyes to South African society. That's why this is more than just a record of "putting-on-a-show." Watch out for his impression of Nelson Mandela at his 91st birthday party - drunk! Had me in stitches. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary is an eye-opening, comical force of the pure channeling and exhibition of eclectic culture. Trevor Noah is a role model for new age comedians everywhere. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't know much about Trevor Noah before watching this other than he was South African and the guy that took over from Jon Stewart. This documentary did a good job of giving an introduction into the upbringing and trials/tribulations of this up and coming comedian. This was a no holds barred look at some of the deeper aspects of his past such as his Mother being shot and his Father abandoning him. He won me over with this one. A must watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Informative and entertaining. Mad respect for Trevor Noah. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
