Audience Member If this is a ‘documentary’ then so is The Partridge Family. Interesting in how the group is formed, but never delves into any participants in any meaningful way. There are scenes which seem completely contrived re-enactments of real events. Lots of rollicking clean young folks, with nothing in their heads and non-threatening in a tumultuous time. They all sound beautiful but this is a completely vapid and empty viewing experience. In ‘67/‘68, with so much turmoil and important things going on in the nation, it’s depressing that this mess initially won the Oscar for documentary. It was taken away when discovered it played the previous year. It should never have been nominated in the first place. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/07/20 Full Review Read all reviews
