Jenny Nulf Austin Chronicle The heart is in the right place for Your Lucky Day, but the execution is a little loose. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 17, 2023 Full Review Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com It's thrilling and suspenseful, with enough twists to keep you guessing, but the pointed commentary is impossible to ignore. Rated: 3/4 Nov 10, 2023 Full Review Steven Nguyen Scaife Slant Magazine The film coasts far on the pleasant surprise of some sharp plotting. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 8, 2023 Full Review James Preston Poole Discussing Film Your Lucky Day is the consummate kind of low-budget independent film that showcases the talent of its cast, tells an engaging story, and doesn’t take too much time doing so, foreshadowing a promising career for its writer-director Daniel Brown. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 22, 2024 Full Review Douglas Davidson Elements of Madness Though the film doesn’t play like a judgment on the characters for their choices, necessarily, one can’t help but acknowledge that a system that promises big money is not built in your favor and Brown’s script reminds us of this at every turn. Rated: 4/5 Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Andy Klein FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It's very well worked out, very gruesome, and totally compelling. Nov 29, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Your Lucky Day on Netflix takes viewers on a taut, unpredictable journey into the darker sides of human nature, and it’s Angus Cloud's powerful performance that sets everything into motion. Known for his raw, captivating role in Euphoria, Cloud once again taps into that gritty charm, bringing a fierce authenticity to his character that makes you feel like anything could happen. His role as the “bad boy” triggers a series of events that immediately pulls viewers into the story, and his character is magnetic from the start—he’s the spark that ignites the flame. The movie itself is a high-stakes thriller that explores how greed can warp people’s morals and decisions. When a random encounter turns into a life-or-death struggle, the story dives deep into what happens when a momentary lapse in judgment spirals into something far bigger. Cloud’s character brings intensity and vulnerability, while the movie doesn’t shy away from showing how quickly things can get out of control when money and desperation are involved. This theme of greed is central to the story, reminding us how ambition, when unchecked, can have consequences that reach far beyond what anyone could anticipate. Your Lucky Day unfolds in a single setting that becomes a pressure cooker, with characters revealing more about themselves as the tension mounts. The cinematography brings the claustrophobic atmosphere to life, making you feel every bit of the suspense, while the pacing keeps things moving at just the right speed. The movie draws you into the moral dilemmas the characters face, and just when you think you know where it’s heading, it throws in twists that leave you reeling. Beyond being just a thriller, the film manages to pose questions about morality, choice, and the fallout of putting one’s self-interest above all else. Without giving any spoilers, it’s fair to say the story leaves a lasting impression. Cloud's portrayal brings a raw, realness to the narrative, giving a face to the desperation and unpredictability of the story. For those who loved his work in Euphoria, this is another testament to his talent, and it’s tragic that his journey in film was cut short. In short, Your Lucky Day is an edge-of-your-seat experience that’s as thought-provoking as it is suspenseful. If you’re in the mood for a dark thriller that doesn’t hold back and appreciate films that dive deep into what drives human behavior, this is one you don’t want to miss. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/28/24 Full Review Audience Member There can only be one!!!!!😡😡😡🤬😖😠😠😤 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/07/24 Full Review Bill W Kind of a slow burn, lots of twists, lots of gore. I liked it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/24 Full Review juan g Really didn't like how dumb the characters were. The beginning was so hard to watch cuz of how stupid they were. Barely finished it honestly. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/09/24 Full Review Jeffrey P Not as interesting as it could have been, I don’t use this word often because I think it’s a copout but it was just boring, and the villain was just too dumb. Then the last twenty minutes just feel secondary to the first hour; too contrived for the final minutes to only say what they had to say. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/27/24 Full Review Dane B. M Wonderfully watchable even if you have to majorly suspend your disbelief. Wait until the credits are over because that's where the giveaway is. I was drawn in by the tension. The little twists will keep you engaged. Keep your eye out on the director/writer. This is just the beginning for an interesting career. The actors too, unknown to me and probably you, will get work after this. And they deserve it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/21/24 Full Review Read all reviews
