Giuseppe Sedia Kino Mania Polish daily "Gazeta Prawna" compared Mularuk’s feature to the shabbiness of second-hand clothing. Through its overt and colourful superficiality, Yuma indeed succeeds in embodying the hunger for frivolity and Western brands in the Poland of the 1990s. Rated: 3/5 Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Daniel Green CineVue Mularuk's innovative, yet somewhat stretched film may well struggle to make an impact outside of the UK's Polish demographic, but it's not for the want of trying. Rated: 3/5 Feb 2, 2019 Full Review Graham Young Birmingham Mail It has lovely touches including nods to spaghetti westerns, beautiful cinematography, interesting town and rural landscapes and, in Gierszal, a good looking alternative to the younger Matt Damon. Rated: 3/5 Sep 7, 2012 Full Review Niki Boyle The List Yuma is trying so obviously to be the Slavic Scarface - and, for a good portion of the running time, it earns that title. Rated: 3/5 Sep 5, 2012 Full Review Jennifer Tate ViewLondon This Polish action/crime drama has some strong performances from its supporting cast and leading man Jakub Gierszal ... Audience Member Yuma: seedy Polish film about the criminal underworld; more loose ends than my grandma's gusset. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Rather than being daringly violent, it simply stands as the tasteless Polish version of Scarface. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Exceeded my expectations, a more thoughtful film than I had anticipated. Explores issues of reparation and justice inside what is portrayed as an endemically corrupt society. Charts the descent/ascent of the lead character (Jakub Gierszal) as he becomes something of a modern-day Robin Hood. Makes a nice change to see the culture and morals of a foreign country other than the US of A portrayed on screen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
