Audience Member On it's own merits, this movie is a pretty bad Japanese B movie. But I'm giving it 4 stars because I the MST3K treatment of this movie is hilarious. One of my favorite episodes. "I like it very much" Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member One-man UFOs are piloted by silent superheroes, and spandex alien men sport plastic noses in this cheerfully cheap Sci-Fi, which appears to take place in Americasville, Japan. Washing their cars with dusters and dressing their children in tuxedos, the Chevy-driving inhabitants of Prince of Space's sitcom-like town are as Martian as their alien adversaries. However, nobody in the film is quite so memorable as the Prince of Space himself. A caped crusader who spends half the movie dodging lasers, despite spending the other half boasting that he's impervious to said lasers, our leading man is a front runner for cinema's least exciting superhero; his only real power being his heroic inability to express character or emotion. The film overflows with oddity, campiness and comic charm, but not even an anal-probing scene could distract from its fast decent into utter unwatchability. Out of this world. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Ah this was so good oh wait not really it was pretty crappy I must say even for the 1950s wow is all I really gotta say Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun cheesy Japanese flick with corny characters and the works. It's a bit slow, and hardly anything make sense, but it makes for a good MST3K episode. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic, the the villian rivals Darth Vader in evilness, a hero that can almost move with great agility and children sidekicks you just want to kill. Feel good hit Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Yusei oji (Prince of Space) is one of the stranger curiosities amongst the terrible Japanese exports of yesteryear. While the movie itself is pretty bad, the English dubbing of it was done by an Italian company, so all of the dialogue has a New Jersey accent to it at times. The plot itself follows a group of people in Japan (I think, although the Eiffel Tower is in there too) as an alien race attempts to take over, only to be saved by the aforementioned Prince of Space. The film was released in 1959 (not 1962) and didn't make a dent at all. It's mostly notable today for being featured on a rather good episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. It's hard to find today, but I'm sure you can find a copy if you're curious enough about it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
