Zack Hample isn't a professional baseball player, but for decades he's been racking up stats as if he were. The legendary "ballhawk" has attended thousands of Major League Baseball games across every ballpark in the country on his journey to snag 10,000 baseballs from the stands. Along the way he's found himself at the center of some of the game's biggest moments and controversies -- including Mike Trout's first home run and Alex Rodriguez's 3,000th hit -- and has undeniably become baseball's most celebrated and infamous fan.

Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound Once you give it a chance or dig a little deeper you begin to realize that the film is really a look at a man who has spent most of his life trying to find his place in this world. Rated: 3/5 May 1, 2022 Full Review Jeff Ames ComingSoon.net Zack Hample vs. the World entertains thanks to its engaging subject matter, even if it stumbles whenever the filmmakers attempt to mythologize the man. Rated: 8/10 Apr 8, 2022 Full Review Stephen Silver Tilt Magazine I now find the subject more interesting than I did before I watched the film, but I dont necessarily find myself any more sympathetic to him. Audience Member I really enjoyed this deep dive into Zack's world. It really showcases his skill with the glove, passion for the sport, positive influence on thousands of young baseball fans, and his grace in dealing with so many much social media (and professional media) negativity. I particularly enjoyed hearing from former MLB All-Star Heath Bell. Watch this with a kid and then head out to a ball game…and bring your glove! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This documentary was amazing. Having known Zack for 12+ years it was fun to see an even deeper view of his mind and thoughts. We met Zack in Baltimore. He asked me to take a picture of him and his ball hawking group. We started to chat. He asked if we had a pass to get in early to get baseballs. Never heard of such a thing. Well we went. It was my sons 1st experience getting baseballs. At 6!! I think he got 7 baseballs. He had such a blast. Anyway. The movie is awesome. Happy for you Zack. Keep doing what you love. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member A brilliantly thorough look at a a unique individual that captives, inspires, and makes me want to get to the game early with my glove! Zack Hample reminds us that life is about having fun, and this film is exactly that. MLB be should make him a fan-brand ambassador asap! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Enjoyable, it's enviable watching someone pursue their passion. You won't see another documentary like it. You'll enjoy it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best docs I have EVER SEEN! This movie is fun, fast, super-compelling, and deeply emotional. The sheer storytelling power of this film outshines even the best docs. You are captivated by this one the way you thrill to a great feature film. For the people who avoid docs because it seems like homework, this movie is definitely for you. It's more fast-paced and involving than even the best movies in the Marvel franchise. Even if you're not a baseball fan, this movie will get to you. It kind of has a ROCKY vibe. Zack Hample is not often thought of as the kind of underdog Rocky Balboa was, but Zack has clearly been misunderstood, and it's clearly hurt him, but hasn't slowed him down. Just because you're a Ball Hawk does not automatically make you a Ball Hog. Zack Hample is an inspiration to kids, a philanthropist, and the antidote to everything that's just a little too Bro-centric about professional sports in this country. Zack handles himself with the grace, skill, smarts--and, above all, COMPASSION--of a great athlete, and this film is like watching a biopic of a superstar. Ultimately, this is a story about a guy who has a passion so rich and deep and specific that the rest of the world just thinks he's a weirdo for loving what he loves. But here's to THESE kind of weirdos. The world is a better place for the weirdos like Zack, who don't just love what they love, but love it with everything they've got. If it really is a fight between Zack Hample and the world.... I'm rooting for Zack Hample. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member LOVED THIS DOCUMENTARY!!! If you love baseball, this is a MUST SEE! Such a unique and interesting story. Really well produced! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
