Audience Member Luckily this was only three bucks. Zombiethon is novelty collection of old zombie horror films from the 80s that were too obscure for mainstream. It's sort of like a documentary if you can call it that. Plenty of beautiful women which if you know your exploitation/horror genre, you know there will be flesh on the screen. Zombiethon is compromised with only meat and potato scenes which you are in luck if you hate useless dialogue. The zombie flicks include the prestigious Zombi 2 and the lousy Oasis of the Zombies, Zombie Lake, Virgin Among the Dead, the Invisible Dead, Astro Zombies, and other zombie films. The film runs an hour and 13 minutes. It could have used some interviews with the people behind these low budget films, but Zombiethon was only interested in the meat and potatoes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A series of clips from various, mostly European zombie films, Zombiethon merges these clips together with fairly minimal original scenes involving attractive women and zombies watching the movies in a theater. We see Lucio Fulci's Zombi 2, Jean Rollin's Zombie Lake, Jesus Franco's Oasis of the Zombies, etc. as the film unfolds. Completely unnecessary, Zombiethon still manages to somehow be minimally engaging even if you have seen all of the films highlighted in it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought when Charles Band released a few films that were nothing more than clip films (if you can even call them films) of some of his movies that he was just trying to make money for nothing. I had no idea he had been doing it his whole career!!! Zombiethon attempts to make a film using clips from such zombie greats as Zombie, White Zombie, Zombie Lake, Astro-Zombies, A Virgin Amung the Living Dead, Zombie Flesh Eaters etc. (ok so some of them aren't so great). The end result is a mish mash of the best gore, nudity, and zombies from each film smashed together in what can be considered little more than a pile of wasted time. Go watch the original films and give this one a by pass... give it a wide wide birth. I think the plot is supposed to be people running into a theatre and sitting down with a bunch of zombies to watch... zombie movies. *shrug* Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Cheaply made, but not entirely useless. It does show a lot of clips from lesser know, foreign zombie films, most which are extremely hard core and low-budget. There's a lot of gore and graphic nudity, in other words the film tries to showcase the best scenes from the movie depending on your taste. There are also strange confusing segments between each film but they are kind of fun. If you're wanting a taste of more zombie movies, than this is a good sampler. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A compilation of scenes from several zombie flicks. The clips for Zombi compromise like 20 minutes effectively giving us a mini-movie version for those too impatient to watch the entire film with the story and dialogue and all that fancy stuff. Also shown are parts of two early Nazi-zombie suck-fests, Zombie Lake and Oasis of the Zombies. Mostly unmemorable stuff except I now must seek out Astro-Zombies for sure. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Perfect preview of zombie films for zombie fans. There is also a lot of nudity and gore and it is rated PG.
