Based on the 2016 novel by Amor Towles, "A Gentleman in Moscow" is set against the backdrop of post-Revolutionary Russia, where Count Alexander Rostov is stripped of his title and material wealth, and placed under house arrest for life in a grand Moscow hotel. Unlikely friendships, fleeting romance and the hotel's occupants open the Count's eyes to the hidden wonders of the hotel, and the enduring power of human connection. After losing everything, he must learn that true riches are found in love, courage and community.

I absolutely loved everything about this show, and I’m a person who likes almost nothing that’s out currently. The story, the acting, the filling - just A+ all the way around! What a triumph for everything to come together this well. Absolutely loved this show.

If you don't mind throwing history, facts and any semblance of a realistic story line this series really works. Once again the 'Hollywood machine' got a hold of a good novel and configured it into a mess, to then turn it into a drama series for the masses. Let's shoot for the lowest common denominator and we'll get the numbers kind of thing. Stopped watching.

Overall, I found the series enjoyable, particularly Ewan McGregor's portrayal of the Count, which was a highlight. However, I was disappointed by several casting choices that felt misaligned with the characters. The addition of made-up storylines detracted from the original narrative, and important elements from the book were left out, weakening the adaptation. While the series had its strengths, it missed key aspects that would have enhanced the story.
