Robert J I've really enjoyed this series of fictionalized history. Sufficient number of characters have plenty of charm, humanity and multidimensions mixed with characters showing limited but nasty aspects. Settings, costumes and photography/cinematography are well done for a plot that mostly takes place in an extremely bourgeois hotel during the Bolshevik revolution, so far. I look forward to watching this series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Sandy B We’ve been watching and enjoying this. Acting is top notch. If you like historical fiction genre, you will appreciate this series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review steven m Ewan McGregor brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Ivan L Having read the novel on which this series is based, I was looking forward to this on screen version enormously, particularly because Ewan McGregor was the star. The novel is one of the best books I’ve read, the same doesn’t apply to the TV Series, to the extent I reluctantly watched the final episode. Only one characters aged over a 30 to 40 year period and the large number of African American or UK African actors made a mockery of who would have have lived in a hotel in post revolutionary Moscow Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/24/24 Full Review Magpie X Really struggling with this charmless show. I'm distracted by the casting and accents that look and sound so disingenuous that I'm being pulled out of the magic of the storytelling, a missed opportunity as the book is warm, witty, and thoughtful. Which this series isn't. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/24/24 Full Review kay m Obviously not realistic but a fun fairytale Ewan is so incredible at this role Highly recommend Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Verne Gay Newsday An inert, talky bore. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 8, 2024 Full Review Emily Zemler Observer The events unfold with a deft visual and tonal style, augmented by McGregor’s spot-on performance, which shifts effortlessly between showmanship and vulnerability. Apr 3, 2024 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review It's very easy to watch. Apr 2, 2024 Full Review Juan Carlos Galindo El Pais (Spain) Once again, we behold the best of the novel and the series: the world may be collapsing, but at the Metropol Hotel there will always be room for hope, love, and friendship. [Full review in Spanish] Apr 25, 2024 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media Despite being a work of fiction, the tale is believable thanks to the incorporation of historical details into the story. Apr 24, 2024 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba McGregor’s performance alone would be enough to make A Gentleman in Moscow compelling, but there’s a great story brewing, too.
