The main character is superficial, the plot twist is badly constructed and not really believable (characters don’t act as who they’re supposed to be). Don’t waste your time

I have liked Emma Myers in other series but in this one I just could not get over her terrible British accent, was it that hard to cast a British actress? The show itself is alright I suppose, it feels slow but too fast at the same time. The characters are not that interesting and the story feels a bit rushed. There are some plot holes as well. However the overall story is decent enough and deals with teenage themes well. This is a series you could put on if there's nothing else to watch.

I tried watching it without comparing it with book, but I couldn't. I know they went do it exactly like the book, but I think they could've done better with the details like when she figured out it was the sister who killed the girl, but that's just my opinion. My mom liked it so maybe if you haven't read the book then you'll enjoy it.

so so so disappointing, i don't even know what to say. if you're going to cut most of the book and add unnecessary original scenes make your own story ? what was the purpose of this adaptation? made me dislike pippa and i could not care less for pipravi, pip and care had more chemistry than any other ship and cara was somehow the best written character in the whole show... and she shows up for 5 minutes max per episode... it was entertaining sometimes, but it was lacking too much for me to fully enjoy it

I really enjoyed this series! The acting was good, the cinematography was spot on, and the pacing was good over the several episodes! I read the book awhile ago, so it didn’t bother me that things were changed in the adaptation. Definitely recommend! 5 stars

(NO SPOILERS) A Good Girl's Guide to Murder centers around the story of Pip (played by Emma Myers), a young student who decides to investigate a five-year-old murder for her final high school project. The case seems closed after Andie's boyfriend, Sal, confessed to the murder and then committed suicide. However, Pip begins to question the official version and gradually uncovers that things are not as they seem. The series offers a beautiful English setting, which, along with the architecture and atmosphere, adds to the story's intrigue. The emphasis on the British accent and period elements, despite the contemporary setting, creates a unique aesthetic that will delight any lover of British culture. Emma Myers shines in the role of Pip and becomes the main driving force of the series. Her performance is authentic and natural, giving her character credibility and depth. Pip’s sense of justice and willingness to take risks make her character not only likable but also fascinating. The story is well-written, with many twists and suspenseful moments that keep the viewer engaged until the very end. The detective elements are handled with care, and although some coincidences are a bit too convenient, the series overall works as a quality mystery. The music, which complements the slightly horror and thriller moments, is a pleasant addition. Despite a strong start, the series occasionally has a slower pace, particularly in the second episode, where some scenes feel drawn out. Some of the twists and reveals, especially in the final episode, may not satisfy everyone. The revelation about Sal is impactful, but the actual uncovering of Andie’s killer might not sit well with all viewers. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is a decent detective series that offers an intriguing story, well-written characters, and solid performances, especially from Emma Myers. While the series has its flaws, such as occasional slow pacing and a not entirely satisfying conclusion, it’s overall an enjoyable experience that will please fans of mysteries and suspenseful stories. If you enjoy detective tales with young protagonists and a British atmosphere, it’s definitely worth a watch. |7/10|
