Saloni Gajjar AV Club As far as potential murderers go, these are far from the most interesting ones in Christie’s oeuvre. So they’re pretty drab in the show, too, but most of the performances help elevate the middling material. Rated: C Sep 12, 2025 Full Review Judy Berman TIME Magazine The show’s real draw is its cast, which expands to include Matthew Rhys as a troubled detective, and a skillful adaptation that highlights the glossiest, cleverest elements of classic Christie—and adds a pinch of eros. May 1, 2025 Full Review J. Kelly Nestruck Globe and Mail [A] lovely looking and mildly anachronistic mystery -- with Anjelica Huston in a dowager role previously reserved for Maggie Smith. Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Abby Robinson Radio Times Towards Zero is beautifully and artfully shot. It's a sophisticated, atmospheric, adult piece of television that long-time fans of Agatha Christie will enjoy... [But] it's pretty by-the-numbers stuff plot-wise. Rated: 3/5 Sep 12, 2025 Full Review Helen Hawkins The Arts Desk The minutiae of the plot are better understood by the scriptwriter than by the audience, and there is a faint whiff of a forced gimmick in the denouement, but it’s slim pickings. Approach it as an entertaining parlour game rather than a crime thriller. Rated: 3/5 Sep 12, 2025 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Sunday Age It would be all too wink-wink if the investigating detective, Inspector Leach (Rhys), wasn’t dishevelled, depressed, and disinclined to believe anyone. Leach’s professionalism, like the show, has a wilful streak. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 11, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Bert G Why is it filmed in the dark?! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review Martin C Dreadful adaptation of a fine Christie novel. Not even wonderful Anjelica Huston could save this terrible mess. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/25 Full Review Ivan F Too theatrical and slow. A few surprises of convincing British characters played by American actors. Oliver Jackson-Cohen is as flat as possible, I can compare his acting abilities to Steven Segal. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/25 Full Review Anya S Nice scenery, music, fashions, a little disjointed, and there's not much feeling for the murdered or the suspects. But Rhys is most likable and adds a much needed emotional touch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/25 Full Review Hank S Beautiful but slow paced and not nearly as compelling as the original novel. Make it an hour shorter and it would have been been that much better. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/25 Full Review Avindu G What's interesting about adaptations from Agatha's writings are the dynamic characters. This journey towards Zero had perfectly timed surprises along the way. Any place secluded wasn't too far from mysteries for Agatha's mind, and the crossovers therefore are always scenic and satisfying. Casting was perfect and performances were sincere. Great cinematography and visuals. Scenic surroundings contrasting to the ordeal has a major impact. Good sound effects and music. Though the characters weren't introduced in length the story was attractive as much as the Poirot series and hopefully we would see more of similar adaptations. Enjoy.
