Jun 16, 2025 Full Review Jackson McHenry New York Magazine/Vulture For light fare — an amuse-bouche, essentially — Carême gets the job done. May 12, 2025 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Sinfully fun even as it gets more and more preposterous. Seconds, please! Rated: 3.5/4 May 2, 2025 Full Review Jeanine T. Leonardo S Excellent, quite a good cast, the acting was top not must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/28/25 Full Review Alex R Good acting and production. Original dialogues have the characters speak in modern teen fashion, and often lacks the flow and sound of the era and takes out from the immersion in the early 19th century. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/30/25 Full Review Eric N Add this to my list of stellar foreign language series from Apple TV+. Careme really has everything you want in a great show - romance, intrigue, great acting, breathtaking cinematography, fantastic music, etc. PLUS mouthwatering food. I can't speak to the historical accuracy of the show, but it's consistently entertaining from start to finish. Like all of Apple's foreign language series, I watched it with subtitles, as dubbed shows leave me very cold. Even though I understand very little French, I can't imagine watching this with any other voices than those of the original actors. I rate Careme 8.8, putting it in my top 10 list of Apple's foreign language series. A great watch! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/22/25 Full Review David R Carême surprised me as I watched more and more episodes. The show drew me in as the characters and the story developed, and from being sceptical of the show when I watched episode 1, I became incredibly impressed. Lavish production, beautifully shot in beautiful settings, and a superb cast. Hoping for Season 2! (By the way, I chose the French-speaking and english subtitles option.) Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/25 Full Review Lindsay N. M Entertaining period piece with beautiful cinematography. Benjamin Voisin portrayal of Carême is charismatic and captivating. Hope it gets picked up for a second season! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/13/25 Full Review laurent b French-style libertinism, espionage, and a history lesson: Carême is a visual – and almost gastronomic – delight, beautifully crafted. It cleverly blends political intrigue and romance, set against stunning backdrops and costumes, and carried by a lead actor with irresistible charm. This is costume drama at its best!
