Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News “Cars on the Road ” celebrates the friendship of two very unlike people, er, cars and how that odd couple-ness takes them to unexpected destinations and gives them better insight about each other and those around them. Rated: 3/4 Sep 8, 2022 Full Review Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies Cars on the Road is an incredibly fun, spooky, and action-packed little miniseries that’s brimming with beautiful animation, foot-tapping numbers, and timely messages about friendship, family, and self-acceptance. Rated: 4/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Jason Flatt But Why Tho? A Geek Community Cars on the Road is a good bit of fun held back by its too-short format. Rated: 7/10 Jan 14, 2023 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network If your kids are fans of Lightning McQueen and Mater, they will have a bunch of new toys they will add to this year’s Christmas list. Beyond that, there is not much else to warrant a recommendation for this series. Rated: 6/10 Sep 23, 2022 Full Review Polly Conway Common Sense Media Zippy series has a few scares but mostly whole-family fun. Rated: 4/5 Sep 19, 2022 Full Review Diego Peralta Cultured Vultures Cars On The Road is an unfulfilling collection of shorts which suggest that the Cars universe was better left alone. Luiz Henrique S I Love it the series, it's welsome and amazing, and Cruz Ramirez appear in the last episode, i'm so happy to see her again, i Love so much this franchise, 10/10, 🍅100% 🍿100% Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/22/24 Full Review Carmelo Anthony L This series is a great addition to the Cars franchise, expanding it's routes to other places in this franchise with McQueen and Mater, the animations are just better than ever, though the plot is like Mater the Ghostlight or Cars Toon. Though, can't wait for Season 2 of this. This is my most favorite series, for the Cars movies, Definitely Cars 2, even though it's being hated. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review Jowell T It was a fine series at least it's better than Cars 2 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/18/24 Full Review Jacob B In the first Cars project made without the involvement of the franchise's #1 fan John Lasseter, Cars on the Road is a fun series of short films. The animation is on par with that of the films, the scenarios the duo find themselves in are fun and memorable - even bringing back nostalgic memories of the Mater's Tall Tales shorts - and doing what Cars 2 failed to do: actually focus on Lightning McQueen and Mater's strong friendshjp. While not without its flaws (the apparent existence of prehistoric cars means even more headaches with world-building, a denser and wackier tone that, while nowhere near as prevalent as TV Tropes might have you believe, is still at odds with the more grounded approach the franchise takes and, as is par for the course for this franchise, a lack of justification as to why sentient cars are the protagonists when the story could be told with humans without any significant changes), Cars on the Road is still, on the whole, a fun "miniseries" that suggests that Pixar can still continue this franchise even in a Lasseter-free setting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Aiden M Great, the new characters are fun, but it did fail to help find a favorite character except for Mater. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review Spencer P A fun bit of extra world-building that knows exactly what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously.
