Citadel is not a perfect series. But it is a perfect foundation for something extremely entertaining and ambitious. It’s a big spectacle on the small screen that, for the most part, is as good as any blockbuster you’d see in theaters.

Citadel aims for high-stakes, globe-trotting espionage, but ends up feeling like a flashy, empty loop. Despite its massive budget and action-heavy sequences, the show delivers little in the way of meaningful storytelling. The plot circles itself without real progression, offering twists that feel forced and character arcs that go nowhere. It’s all style, no substance—and somehow manages to be even more hollow than many of the recent Marvel Disney+ series. If you're looking for depth, intrigue, or emotional investment, Citadel doesn’t offer much beyond surface-level spectacle. It's a forgettable ride that never quite earns its own hype

I knew it was going to be bad from the opening scene. 1. Trains don't speed thru the mountains. 2. The fire in the water after the crash looked like one of gas flames you see at hotels. Then there is the HQ in Utah. How do you hide a construction project of that size? How do you hide it from satellite overflights? Completely forgettable. But, I am sure Stanley was well paid.
