Christina Izzo AV Club he show is back with its loveable blend of cheeky self-awareness, teen-drama soapiness, and genuinely impressive athletic displays. Rated: B+ Jul 26, 2024 Full Review Dylan Roth Observer After some missteps last season, part one of the final run finds the show returning to form. Jul 20, 2024 Full Review Perri Nemiroff Perri Nemiroff (YouTube) Cobra Kai continues to boast an impossibly charming blend of humor and heart. Season 6 Part 1 tees up a number of strong storylines with great potential moving forward, but all eyes land on Tory courtesy of Peyton List's showstopping performance. Rated: 4/5 Jul 19, 2024 Full Review Brandon Avery Just My Opinion Reviews The stakes continue to rise! Each season gets better and better! A campy love letter to all martial arts fans! Rated: 8/10 Nov 16, 2024 Full Review Tara Ariano Cracked Ostensibly, this show about teenagers is probably primarily intended to entertain teenagers. But for those of us closer to the parents’ age than the kids’, Zabka’s quietly poignant performance as Johnny in his flop era gives Cobra Kai emotional heft. Aug 28, 2024 Full Review Ilan Preskovsky Channel24 (South Africa) It has become repetitive enough that it's undoubtedly for the better that this is the final season of the show, but it also continues to make Cobra Kai one of the great "comfort food" TV shows of the past decade. Zack F Cobra Kai is the show to watch love the action and story Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Philip Z This is, by a long shot, the worst season. Storyline no longer makes any sense, the fights are way over done in choreography and genuinely have nothing to do with karate, certain characters like Demitri are now just horrifically annoying (without the show acknowledging that he is), and there is just so so so much teenage angsty drama it's gotten to be just plain boring. People get kidnapped and act like it's nothing, people pull out knives in the middle of conventions in Europe and no one does anything (hint: the police would instantly be called), and every adult acts like a 5yo baby with temper tantrums. Very badly written. Not to mention that the list of characters have ballooned into something ridiculous. Just roughly counting, we're now talking about something around 20 different active characters in the show. It's just way way too many. Season 1 and 2 was absolutely amazing TV, great humor, fun and interesting storylines, but all that is gone. But we're now at a point in the show where people easily escape jails, avoid murder sentences, can survive getting cut up with swords easily, and it's just gotten silly. Not to mention the borderline offensive representation of Europe and Europeans in the second half of the season. Wish it was good, but it isn't. Some of the cast has clearly gotten considerably better at fight choreography, but overall, the fights feel more boring and far less grounded in reality than the first few seasons. First half of the season was ok'ish, second half is just plain bad. I feel bad for the actors and actresses. The show should have wrapped up in Season 5, or even earlier. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review Audience Member One of the best series on earth right now. It uses the plot of the original karate kid and then incorporates characters from karate kid 2 and 3 as well. The latest season has been the most interesting as they enter the a tournament to help them become the best karate dojo in the world. Miguel Diaz isn’t the captain but shows why he should be in episode 7 ‘Dog in the fight’. Robby’s love for Tory and the opposite way makes them both unfocused during the focus but eventually Kwon’s lies help Robby focus and he ends up being one of the best fighters during Episode 9 and 10. Axel is one of the (if not the) strongest fighters in the whole series where nobody was able to land a point on him. The last episode ‘Eunjangdo’ was one of the most interesting episodes of the whole series as very unexpected things happen and somebody eventually dies due to Kreese’s eunjangdo. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/29/24 Full Review Senan L It’s okay but really corny and unfunny Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/28/24 Full Review Audience Member It's been a goofy, fun ride and it's absolutely the time to end this. The second half of season 6 falls off a cliff. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/28/24 Full Review Read all reviews
