What to Know

Critics Consensus

Resurrecting Charlie Cox's Daredevil with his virtues intact -- namely Vincent D'Onofrio as his terrifying adversary -- Born Again is an ambitious and at times ungainly crime saga that marks a mature tonal shift for the MCU.

This season delivers — and that feels like justice. Go to Full Review

In the end, Born Again suggests, what makes Daredevil interesting isn’t his abilities -- superpowered and otherwise. It’s how, in his ongoing quest to better understand himself, he’s as human as anyone else. Go to Full Review

I'm not sure the first season of Daredevil: Born Again completely delivers on all those necessities... But it does better than an awful lot of disappointing recent film and TV efforts. Go to Full Review

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are the best hero/villain combination in the Marvel universe, and continue to have dynamic chemistry. Go to Full Review

I really enjoyed the show even though I didn’t expect to. I couldn’t stop watching. Daredevil: Born Again has a very down-to-earth vibe, and often doesn’t even feel like a superhero show. More like a legal procedural. Go to Full Review

This weird clash of two competing visions that never quite coalesce, despite the best efforts of a showrunner we know is capable of doing better. Maybe Season 2 will be better, at the very least it’ll be more consistent. Go to Full Review

General P 1d So I had never actually finished the previous arc of Daredevil that was on Netflix so I did that first and immediately watched this after. I would say the the first arc is fantastic, especially that last season with Bullseye. This is a good follow up. It feels fresh and new while still paying homage to the characters we love in the past. It was dark and bloody which I was afraid of it not being. D'Onofrio is again fantastic as Fisk as well as Charlie Cox as Daredevil. And I like each of their character developments. It felt both were given more range to be fallible. They weren't perfect and they had to either succumb to their mistake or overcome them. I liked this theme of fighting against Fisk's authoritarianism, as well as the Punisher segment with the Gestapo like police. I like this proxy war Matt Murdock had with Wilson Fisk in court and in the streets. I like the continued building of this world of Daredevil. It's just generally good! See more Some R 6d It may not be as absolutely stellar as Netflix’s "Daredevil," but it’s a genuinely good watch. Yes it’s a slow burn, but it’s fun and it matches the gritty, sometimes cheeky nature/energy of the Netflix series. If you’re a Daredevil fan I definitely recommend it. It’s a good watch. See more Scarlett B @AgentScarlett Dec 17 Really enjoyed this first season, and awesome to see Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil as well as Vincent as Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Punisher, and the other returning cast. First ep really comes out of the gate swinging and does a great job kicking off the new series. Cinematography and the big action scenes were great - though hoping for a lot more of it in upcoming seasons. Loved the show kept a dark, gritty and grounded tone. Where the season ends sets up an awesome s2 premise, which seems like it will ramp the amount of action back up again. Greatly appreciate the production course-correction to make this a direct continuation of the Netflix series - baffling that wasn't the plan from the start but glad to see this series saved from the brink. Overall, I definitely recommend, a solid and enjoyable season! See more Gart M @ImTheGart Dec 11 Daredevil Born Again is a great watch for those wanting more Daredevil content after the original Netlifx show. They did a phenomenal job bringing back the original cast and vibes of the original show. I also loved seeing all of the new characters introduced while still focusing on the old characters as well. Additionally it has an interesting take on Kingpin once again and incorporates that dark but exciting theme driven throughout the entire series. I look forward to season 2 and how Daredevil will play out in the rest of the MCU. See more Matt J @RonJon Dec 11 Great potential, huge missed opportunity. Really enjoyed the acting, the music, the sets, etc... However, I did not care for the blatant import of certain philosophical worldviews that I do not agree with. For the sake of the story, the love of the character, and the actors I pushed through, but by episode 6 I quit. It became less and less about entertainment and more about critiquing modern day real world issues with an obvious slant that is hard to ignore. If you are too dull to see this, then keep watching the show, it is meant just for you! See more Large E @largeNcharge Dec 9 excellently thought out from the traumatic opening scene to the dramatic close and prep for the future. very dark. i didnt want to stop watching from the moment i started.
