In the Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester in the 1950s, gruff, down-to-earth police inspector Geordie Keating's methodical approach to police work complements the intuitive techniques of local vicar Sidney Chambers, and later the Rev. Will Davenport. Geordie forms an unlikely partnership with both men of the cloth, and as partners they bring different insights into the crimes they start to unravel, forming true friendships as they work together. Village life in Grantchester proves to be much livelier than its sleepy appearance might suggest, with intrigue and gossip swirling in the background of Geordie's investigations.

Ben Pobjie The Age (Australia) Grantchester’s greatest trick, though, is taking the ridiculousness of the set-up and turning it into something that can easily enter into your soul as a sweetly serious drama. Debbie F The new vicar, Alphy (played by Rishi Nair) has perfect chemistry with Detective Inspector Geordie! Alphy is adorable, kind-hearted, warm, and down-to-earth. Rishi is a great addition to the rest of the amazing cast! Great writing, story plots, wit, and acting! Season 9 is already very entertaining. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/23/24 Full Review Gary S I've been watching Grantchester for years, while Tom Brittney was a great Vicar, Rishi Nair adds a new twist to the investigating duo. He and Robson Green seem to gel perfectly. Also interesting is the community's lack of acceptance of Nair because of his skin color, I think Nair handles it well as the Vicar not showing any ill feelings he's sure to have. Grantchester has been a long time favorite of mine, and I will continue to watch and support this great show! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
