Riese Bernard Autostraddle Powerful women in tech, and sweet sweet '80s and '90s nostalgia and damn fine writing and stories that bounce in unexpected directions, driven by big concepts that rarely get such a compelling dramatic treatment on contemporary television. Oct 5, 2021 Full Review Louise Rugendyke Sydney Morning Herald It's trying too hard to be everything to everyone -- big ideas, big personalities, lots of yelling about coding and staring at whiteboards. It's CAPS LOCK in TV form. Rated: 3/5 Jul 7, 2021 Full Review Doreen St. Felix New Yorker Obsolescence is the subject of Halt and Catch Fire, a beautiful deconstruction of the Silicon Valley myth. May 9, 2020 Full Review Therese Lacson Nerdophiles For a season that started off quite shaky for me, it ended in a way that was able to wrap the whole story of season one quite nicely. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 9, 2021 Full Review Natalia Marcos El Pais (Spain) Its first batch of chapters carried the heritage of Don Draper and the antiheroes that populated the series' recent golden age. [Full Review in Spanish] Apr 6, 2020 Full Review Deborah Krieger I on the Arts Halt and Catch Fire stumbles right out of the gate with its squandering of its talented actors on inconsistent, thin characterizations [...] and a noticeable lack of the drama and mystery it so desperately wants to create. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member a truely amazing show, never a boring moment, even worth rewatching. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review phillip w If you like 80s tech genre as much as I do, you'll like this show. The characters are nicely developmed although the cast is just ok. Lee Pace is comical as a "straight" guy and Mackenzie Davis is just a bad actor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Theres a reason you havent heard of the show....because it is so bad....but the problem is the story is good and it is well shot...This is why somehow you sit through the entire series watching these characters do random stuff that is neither satisfying nor interesting Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review alja p I dont know how I totally missed this show back then, but I just binged on it for a whole weekend and it's hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen.
