Laura Babiak Observer Consistently funny, frequently moving and always bursting with color and creativity, Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld is a wonderful addition to the annals of animated streaming shows. Dec 6, 2024 Full Review Jenna Scherer AV Club It couldn’t be clearer that Jentry Chau is a painstakingly created labor of love, complete with three-dimensional characters, intricate world-building, and the perfect blend of quippy humor and gripping drama. Rated: B+ Dec 5, 2024 Full Review Justin Carter io9.com It’s no stranger to some very impressive fights and consistent humor, but its strongest moments come when characters are forced to confront dark truths or unpack their own baggage, often with a crowd watching attentively. Dec 30, 2024 Full Review Charles Pulliam-Moore The Verge But as often as it riffs some of Buffy’s signature beats like teen angst and supernatural love triangles Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld uses them to tell a much more dynamic tale about who gets to be an “all-American girl.” Dec 26, 2024 Full Review Sherin Nicole RIOTUS Jentry Chau is Buffy x Jake Long with a Gen Z glow, where Chinese mythology gets sent to Texas for a high school brawl with demons between TikTok dances and love triangles—while sidestepping a Hellmouth. This animated series has heat hotter than Diyu. Dec 15, 2024 Full Review Diana Keng Geek Girl Authority Combining Chinese mythology, Chinese-American mentality, and Texan culture births fusion art at its most entertaining. [Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld is] an anthem for a generation looking to slay their own demons. Dec 13, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Charles V Definitely not the show I was expecting. It's fun and energetic, but also slows down and is heartfelt, smart, and even chilling with its horror elements. The characters are all likable with believable motives and character growth, their actions have consequences that impact those around them, which gives the show a real sense of stakes and tension despite being an animated series about a girl with superpowers. All that's to say Jentry Chau is a great, well-written show with excellent animation and a solid voice cast that's absolutely worth a binge watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/25 Full Review Sloppy 0 Jentry chau vs the underworld is a really fun animated show and It's a shame that it isn't getting the attention it deserves. I think the animation is fantastic- no complaints about that. The story is interesting enough to keep you engaged and the characters are all really solid. It's hard to put into words but this show feels like It could've been put up there in the classics when it comes to animated shows like gravity falls- again, its a shame that it probably won't get another season though. about an 8/10 for me. Most definitely worth a watch and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys animated shows in general Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/25 Full Review Jose G Must see show. Consistently funny, very vibrant and heartfelt as well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review Davina B Such a great show with good storyline and GREAT animation. Also a plus if you are a K-pop Stan!! DEFINITELY ADD TO THE WATCHLIST!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/25 Full Review Samantha E The show was absolutely exquisite. From the art, to the story and voice acting. But what really blew me away was the soundtrack. Some scenes gave me goosebumps. That's how powerful the music they put in this was. A phenomenal watch. Definitely recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Spencer E Jentry Chau Vs the Underworld features some fantastic animation, a poppy k-pop inspired vibe, and a great protagonist in Jentry Chau herself. Though there's some pacing issues in the back half of the season, and some vocal performances that could be improved in the first half, I think this is a good, self-contained animated series that I'd love to see more of.
