Critics Consensus

Missing You tests the psyche but leaves one with the lingering effects of a soapy, twisty, and slippery miniseries.

Clarisse Loughrey Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) It’s crucial to the effectiveness of Missing You that you do not remember the majority of its plot after the final credits have rolled Apr 3, 2025 Full Review David Opie Empire Magazine Missing You is solid enough if your expectations are as low as your attention span in the sleepy lull after New Year’s. Coben fans will know exactly what they're letting themselves in for.  Rated: 2/5 Jan 10, 2025 Full Review Keith Watson Daily Telegraph (UK) ... Making the most of scenes that don’t involve convoluted plot points, Eleazar and Ashley Walters give Kat and Josh’s back-story some emotional depth in scenes that pack an emotional punch. Rated: 3/5 Jan 9, 2025 Full Review Marlon Wallace The M Report (WBOC.com) This series is a good follow-up because it's essentially the same premise with just as many twists and turns, but with perhaps an even more ridiculous, over-the-top ending. Jul 12, 2025 Full Review Guillermo Courau La Nación (Argentina) ...a series that promises much more than it delivers. Audience Member A perfectly acceptable action thriller if you don't mind your stories being a little convoluted and contrived. The characters are interesting enough, and there's enough twists scattered throughout to keep you guessing. I particularly enjoyed that, whilst there are several parallel plots going on, unlike other TV series they revolve around one character who we follow throughout each, which made it easier to remember what was going on with each. The storylines do combine in a mostly satisfying way by the end. Nothing amazing, but worth a watch if you've nothing else to do. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/12/25 Full Review Chris I This was truly god awful. I've watched all the adaptations of the writer and while you have to leave your brain at the door, this was miles over the line of reality. From start to finish I wasn't sure what on earth I was watching with the continuing hope it would get better. It didn't Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/07/25 Full Review David H Oh, no! I've never seen such a ridiculous, preposterous who-done-it. And I spent 5 hours to find that out. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Fiona B Pathetic is the best word to describe the series. Nothing jelled - shallow characters, a ridiculous storyline - complete rubbish. I always watch things through to the end in the hope that there is an amazing reveal...or something to redeem the production. In this case I wish I had stopped watching after the first half an hour when my gut instinct told me it was going to be terrible to the end. Spare yourself - not worth wasting your time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/25 Full Review J J Waste of time. Without spoiling it for those that do watch, the plot is complete nonsense that goes in different directions and has zero meaning to the storyline. Everything is revealed in the last 20 minutes, it’s at that point you are kicking yourself for wasting time watching it in the first place. The acting is equally poor. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Shorouk E I was soo hooked until maybe the 5th episode then literally everything went down the drain. Went from telling my friends to watch it to calling them up quickly to warn them before they do. I mean i enjoy a plot twist but it just started getting too much at some point until it just got lame and annoying. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Read all reviews
