Hugo Rifkind Times (UK) Overall, though, it felt a bit dutiful. As though the cast, much like the characters, knew that it had become a bit too claustrophobic, but still weren't wholly sure they had the guts to go. May 15, 2020 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times The poignant drama is lightened by a sprinkling of silly comedic detours, which are funny enough but also a reminder this show has reached its natural conclusion. Apr 11, 2020 Full Review Kristen Baldwin Entertainment Weekly Modern Family never stopped being funny, and the finale was comfortingly consistent with the series as a whole: A snappy, smart, and unabashedly sentimental celebration of the folks we love (and sometimes hate) the most. Rated: B+ Apr 10, 2020 Full Review Swetha Ramakrishnan Firstpost Perhaps one of the reasons behind Modern Family's cult success is that each character has an audience and every character is so well-etched. Oct 9, 2023 Full Review Ruhaan Shah Film Companion As the last few minutes of the finale ticked away, I remained surprisingly uplifted, even amidst their tear-jerking hugs. Apr 29, 2020 Full Review Kristi Turnquist Oregonian It was, all in all, a warm, sweet way to end the show, with some smiling-through-tears, some laughs, and a lot of affection. Ian I've loved every season of modern family but this season is unwatchable on sky uk!! The frame rate is all wrong and it sounds like the chipmunks doing the audio! Also it's hard to look at Claire's over surgeried face Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/06/23 Full Review Wolfgang G Modern Family ist eine Mockumentary-Comedy-Serie, die von Christopher Lloyd und Steven Levitan entwickelt wurde… Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/22/23 Full Review Raoul T The entire series of the show has been consistently good. I've enjoyed the writing and the cast as a whole. As a grown up, some of the kids have become a bit less likable by a little bit but they have been allowed to grow up naturally in the show reflecting their real life aging. If I had jumped straight into season 11 I would have enjoyed the show but I wouldn't have held it in such high regard as I do having seen all the other previous seasons. Taken as a whole they all fit seamlessly together. 11 years is a long time for a show to stay fresh and not become lazy and just start turning out the same story lines again and again but modern family has for the most part managed to do it. Everyone involved in the show seems to have put in the work to make it engaging season in and season out. I really have nothing bad to say about this show. It is easy to watch and to rewatch and it comes with my highest recommendation. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/14/23 Full Review Jasmine M Modern Family is a romantic comedy drama set in Los Angeles. Told from the perspective of an unseen documentary filmmaker, the series offers an honest, often-hilarious perspective of family life. Parents Phil and Claire yearn for an honest, open relationship with their three kids. But a daughter who is trying to grow up too fast, another who is too smart for her own good, and a rambunctious young son make it challenging. Claire's dad, Jay, and his Latina wife, Gloria, are raising two sons together, but people sometimes believe Jay to be Gloria's father. Jay's gay son, Mitchell, and his partner, Cameron, have adopted a little Asian girl, completing one big -- straight, gay, multicultural, traditional -- happy family. I like Manny Delgado. I like him because he's smart and set apart from his family but he's a clever kid who is Gloria and Javier's son; Joe's brother; Jay's stepson; Claire and Mitchell's stepbrother. I like the show because it's funny. I also like the show because of the characters and the different situations. I recommend this show to people who like comedies and I give this show 5/5 stars for humor and the creative writing and the humor going on throughout the show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review Kris C One of the most over-rated shows ever. Politically extreme and goofy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/05/23 Full Review Audience Member The final season was a near perfect farewell point that brought back a sense of originality and warmth back to the show, along with a more emotionally profound underlining story as the family begins to grow up and move apart, its final episode is extremely wholesome, sad and still hilarious. Not every episode this season was memorable and the writing is no where near as good as when the show started, but its a satisfying send off for these characters, and when it finishes it actually feel like there is void in your life, I was genuinely upset to say goodbye to watching these characters but the final moments with them were handled wonderfully.
