Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) It works best as a horror tale, with the possessed humans transforming into monstrous form and back again as authorities try to stamp out the infiltration. Apr 4, 2024 Full Review Lyra Hale Fangirlish Parasyte: The Grey is the mind-boggling and eye-opening kind of show that reminds me there are still new and wondrous things to be discovered and created when it comes to TV. Rated: A Jul 5, 2024 Full Review Nelson Acosta Koimoi Parasyte: The Grey is definitely not Yeon Sang-ho’s best work, and it seems trying to replicate the success the director found with Train to Busan won’t be easy Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 4, 2024 Full Review Joonatan Itkonen Toisto.net There are moments in Parasyte that are better than any full seasons of other shows. It’s just they’re too far apart, and the connecting tissue between them isn’t strong enough this time around. Rated: 3/5 Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Pierce Conran South China Morning Post This reimagining is also more interested in exploring the thematic potential of the manga’s concept, rather than its fun factor. However, Yeon’s message, while clearly about how humans organise themselves in society, is tricky to parse. Rated: 3/5 May 14, 2024 Full Review Matt Cabral Common Sense Media The action-horror series trades the usual brain-eaters and little green men for incredibly creepy, tentacled parasites that infect and fully control human hosts. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review Ginseng P Incredible show. I was so impressed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review Dan I This show has a lot of phenomenal points but a beyond-irritating and straight up stupid police officer killed the show for me. I loved all other aspects, but this character alone takes away 3 stars. Also, there's no Season 2 announcement yet. They're presented as obnoxious, and are forced to make decisions to make the plot take dangerous turns. It makes sense for the character, it's just that the character itself makes no sense to me. Every episode with them in it tedious to watch. Their "hate" drives things forward and their impatience kills other people and leaves clearly most valued possessions up to grabs for the monsters they fight. If I had friends to watch this with it'd be bearable, but right now I don't have the patience for characters written as stupid plot devices. I started skipping through episode 4 and won't be coming back. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Jim F Really enjoyed it. Gets slightly better from episode 2. Good amount of action. Pretty good CG (a few places where it wasn't perfect especially in episode 1). Good story but not hard to follow with subtitles. I hope they make a second series. Recommended. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Lydia W This is loosely based on the anime and such a good adaptation. I highly recommend it. It kept me guessing. The characters are very likable and well developed. Best Korean show I've seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/11/24 Full Review Audience Member Being a fan of the Manga, I loved this so much. The characters are great. Loved Jeon So-nee. The morphing into the parasites is awesome. The acting is on point. Fight scenes are exciting. The story is well written. I never got bored of this show. Even rewatching it with a friend atm. Seems like films/tv outside the US is killing it with story telling, cgi, etc. If you've never heard of the Manga, you'll enjoy this. Meaningful exciting journey about being human. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews
