What to Know

Critics Consensus

Mileage may vary by a couple parsecs as The Mandalorian becomes more and more about the connective tissue of broader Star Wars lore, but this remains one of the most engaging adventures in a galaxy far, far away.

The Mandalorian season 3 finale definitively closed one chapter in the 'Star Wars' series while still paving the way for new adventures. Go to Full Review

What has happened to this show? The original Lone Wolf & Cub meets Star Wars concept has been supplanted by the need for Din Djarin and Grogu to be the connective tissue for half a dozen different storylines. Go to Full Review

They’re just so goddamn adorable together. And if you don’t think so, you have an impenetrable heart of stone, or beskar steel. Go to Full Review

It seems that the direction of this series has gone from telling the story of how The First Order came to be to becoming a serialized story-of-the-week show. Go to Full Review

While the world building continues to be top-notch, and Grogu is as delightful as ever, the storytelling seems to have gone down a predictable path Go to Full Review

... It’s really a matter of finesse, characterization, and detail. There’s so much here but it all gets lost in scattered storytelling. Go to Full Review

Alexander F @MissaLyssa Feb 23 The show is still good here, but it did drop off from the high of the first two seasons. Very much still worth watching, just dont temper your expectations. See more Jen N @Flygirl2992 Feb 20 When all of the action to get two characters back together happens on another show, it's a good look that the following season will be a lot of hot garbage. It's hard to do, but this show made me care less and less about Mandalorian politics. Storyline with the sword and Bo-Katan could have been awesome, with the Mando continuing much of his solo antics after handing off the sword to her to unite her people, but instead we just got non-sense where the title character isn't even the star of his own show, but is just there. Much like the phoned-in performance by the lead actor. He's obviously put on some weight as well, so disconnect between when it's him and the stunt performer is huge. Overall feels more like a Disney merch grab instead of actual good character-driven storytelling. See more Barsnobs @Barsnobs Feb 1 A very rushed season, it feels. The effects were good but could have been better and the writing was much clunkier than the first two seasons. I don't love where it ended or how. It seems to be building to a larger narrative with other shows and films, which is exciting and necessary. See more Donald D Jan 30 The creator killed this show my completely ignoring the plot of the show and going back to a buddy action story line from the first two years. Baby Yoda was supposed to go off with Luke but returns with no explanation the next season. ???? Come on, what a lack luster way to screw up the show. Now it is gone for good.... See more 5268- Omar Ahmed Farouk @Din_djarin Jan 3 Not as good as the first 2 seasons but still really solid. The mandalorian and grogu duo is the best duo in star wars by far. Best project we got since the old movies like revenge of the sith and empire strikes back See more Eddie S Jan 3 This season is a great adventure with lots of action and heart in a galaxy far, far away. Though the Jack Black and Lizzo episode is a bit out of place, that episode still serves the story and is a fun time! The finale is an exciting conclusion and is a dramatic battle as the Mandalorians fight to reclaim their world from the evil Galactic Empire. Paves the way for more exciting stories to come, especially The Mandalorian and Grogu movie coming out this Memorial Day. See more Read all reviews
