Dan Chase absconded from the CIA and lives off the grid. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. The FBI's Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive. When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well. While on the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald, who draws on reserves she never knew she had to survive the day when she learns the truth about her new tenant.

The Old Man is a fantastic series. Jeff Bridges is superb in the lead role and is admirably supported by a solid cast. Even in its 'slower' moments, the intensity is within touching distance. The action is gritty and realistic, and there's plenty of it.

Stellar performance by Bridges and starts out pithy and interesting but unfortunately as so many other types of intruige themed shows collapses under its own weight having characters making decisions that are arbitrary or only designed to make a deeper plot (which ultimately fail in doing so as there are more obvious actions.) A fun ride worth a binge but nothing worth serious attention.

A fantastic spy thriller, a great fast paced story with some great acting and interesting characters if season 2 wasn't such a let down I'd give it a 5 star review as things stand the ending ruins the beginning.
