Dan Chase absconded from the CIA and lives off the grid. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. The FBI's Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive. When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well. While on the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald, who draws on reserves she never knew she had to survive the day when she learns the truth about her new tenant.

A curious series, apparently wanting to have its old cake and chew on it slowly: half the time it’s a downbeat portrait of encroaching senescence — of regret and depression — the rest of the time it’s a rallying cry not to underestimate the old guy.

Ultimately, the particulars don’t matter as much as the personalities involved. The Old Man is a show about how far these men will go -- even near the end of their lives -- to save themselves.

Absolut sehenswerte, hoch realistische und intiligente Agenten Serie, bei der auch die Action nicht zu kurz kommt. Vor allem aber Spannung durch exzellente Schauspieler und kluges Drehbuch. Behutsam und gleichzeitig rasant um dann wieder die Charaktäre weiter zu zeichnen. Absolute Binge-Empfehlung.

I really like this show. I love "slow burn" mysteries that continue through the series. And this is just that.

Fundamentally stupid, and bitty, but somehow still watchable. Baddies are bad shots one american = 10 baddies. , too much weak emotion and contrived honor, e enough plot twists to keep you coming back, but only for an unclear ending, to drive you to part 2, which is apparently unredeemable.
