Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News The supporting cast of characters get even more developed in this brisk season that you’ll want to finish in one weekend. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 6, 2025 Full Review Ed Power Daily Telegraph (UK) As time-killing hokum, The Recruit hits the target like 007 taking aim down a pre-credits gun barrel. Rated: 4/5 Jan 30, 2025 Full Review Samarth Goyal Hindustan Times The Recruit wisely retains its fast-paced storytelling, never getting bogged down despite Owen’s increasingly complex personal struggles. Feb 6, 2025 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network Netflix should pair this series and The Night Agent for as long as they can with The Recruit, the lighter series of the two, investing in as much levity as possible. Rated: 6/10 Feb 6, 2025 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba If you’re mildly amused and occasionally entertained, you’re likely watching The Recruit. The second season is also marginally better than the first, and it’s only six episodes long. Feb 6, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Because The Recruit is at its heart a silly action series, its success really leans on Centineo’s charm and the comedic vibe of the show’s writing, and that continues in the second season. SkyRo P I found the first season of "The Recruit" to be absolutely fantastic. It was well-crafted, and I was eagerly looking forward to the arrival of the second season. However, my excitement didn’t quite match my experience with Season 2. Unfortunately, the second season felt underwhelming to me. It lacked the engaging elements that made the first season so compelling, often recycling the same dialogues without offering any real progression or resolution. Overall, it just felt flat. While I would gladly revisit the first season, the second season didn’t provide a satisfying continuation, which detracts from the enjoyment of the initial story. It’s a shame because the first season had such strong storytelling and charisma. I wouldn’t say the second season is terrible, but it lacks the re-watchability factor for me. It simply didn’t capture my interest in the same way, and I found myself disengaged from the storyline. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/25 Full Review Chefkey B Season 1 was well thought out and interesting. Season 2, all of a sudden he is an agent instead of a lawyer by the way he is fighting. Too much hateful people in season 2 as well. Nobody is on his side and it just got dumb. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/09/25 Full Review Casey F The chemistry the cast seems to have makes the show amazing. Well written script and great acting makes this show a great watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/08/25 Full Review AJ A Really loved season one and this season did not disappoint. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/08/25 Full Review Bill K Found the show entertaining. Not as good as the first season I think if they had 3-4 more episodes in this season they could have developed the characters and storyline better. Still two thumbs up. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/06/25 Full Review Benjamin A I agree with the many comments about the season being too short. But, that it better than a series that drags out. Owen becomes more of a badass this season. Can’t wait to see where they take everyone in season 3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/06/25 Full Review Read all reviews
