On one day in 1989, 43 infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates the Umbrella Academy and prepares his "children" to save the world. In their teenage years, though, the family fractures and the team disbands. Fast forward to the present time, when the six surviving members of the clan reunite upon the news of Hargreeves' passing. They work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father's death, but divergent personalities and abilities again pull the estranged family apart, and a global apocalypse is another imminent threat. The series is based on a collection of comics and graphic novels created and written by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way.

This is the way The Umbrella Academy ends, not with a bang, but a whimper. Go to Full Review

If there’s a messiness to how this season unfolds, there’s a boldness too. And though I suspect there are some choices that will be divisive among the fanbase, it’s nice to see the show go out while it’s still able to make big swings. Go to Full Review

The Umbrella Academy ending now could be considered yet more evidence of the ongoing contraction superhero content is currently experiencing. It’s ending strong, though, with enough commitment to its characters to make its most memorable moments shine. Go to Full Review

The Umbrella Academy handles queer grief in a touching and authentic way that isn’t exploitative. Go to Full Review

I wish Umbrella Academy had an ending that gave a bit more, but they gave us an ending that made sense in the very least; though, it was a very messy, muddy path to get there. Go to Full Review

In a show known for taking big, unexpected swings, it ended on the biggest most unexpected one yet. I think that’s pretty cool. Go to Full Review

Gart M @ImTheGart 5d I really like this show but the last 2 seasons fell off in terms of quality. The finale kind of ruined lots of character development and arcs and had some strange scenes. I really enjoyed the first 2 seasons though. Allison was my favorite character and their whole family dynamic was interesting to see. I do think that they did a great job making a show based off of the original comics though. The music choices and soundtrack in the show is always phenomenal too. See more Katie D Nov 26 If you're starting to watch the umbrella academy I highly recommend to skip this season. This season was poorly written obviously the writers rushed this season unlike how the stranger things writers put all their efforts for the finale season of stranger things. This season doesn't connect to the previous 3 seasons, and don't get me started about the five and Lila's relationship thing and the writers said five and lika having chemistry since season 2 when they've been hating each other for the past seasons, and klaus was poorly written too I'm just glad he's sober but still poorly written they did him dirty. And the writers making Abigail hargeeeves as the one of important characters in season one yet they barely give her screentime and backstory, the keepers thing, and the two couple- jean and gene, and how did the marigold was found and became a liquid? The writers said this season would answer all the plot holes but this season added more plot holes. So yeah, don't watch it, just a waste of time(tua fan myself) See more Sharmin A Nov 14 This is so bad to the point that it’s straight up fanfic. Steve Blackman I am coming for you, sleep with one eye open See more Kain G Nov 10 It felt rushed, there was so many plot points that went nowhere. The actors that were really good the past seasons felt like they didn’t even care about this season. Felt like most of them were there for a check. See more myb O Oct 27 It’s like the writers were on a mission to ruin every character, it was terrible and they should be ashamed. See more A S Sep 30 Awful way to end an other fabulous series. The characters behaved so… out of character. Klaus was made weak and frail, Five and Lila became betrayers. Really disgusting. Ruined the whole series for me. See more Read all reviews
