What to Know

Critics Consensus

A solid animated adaptation, The Legend of Lara Croft does a fine job of adding new dimensions to the iconic hero while chartering an adventure that's not quite worthy of her.

Rendy Jones RogerEbert.com “Tomb Raider: Legend of Lara Croft” fits alongside the acclaimed TV versions of “Fallout” and “The Last of Us,” continuing the strong streak of video game television adaptations that are far better than they have any right to be. Oct 11, 2024 Full Review David Opie Empire Magazine The Legend Of Lara Croft is an uneven bridge between the old and new of the Tomb Raider franchise, one that doesn’t quite live up to the high standards of the recent video-game-to-anime renaissance. Rated: 2/5 Oct 10, 2024 Full Review James Hanton The Indiependent While imperfect, The Legend of Lara Croft continues the character’s immaculate reinvention and moves towards the emotional richness that fans deserve. Rated: 3 / 5 Oct 18, 2024 Full Review Matt Cabral Common Sense Media That gripe aside, Tomb Raider works well as a fan-servicing continuation of the game series, while also inviting the uninitiated to grab a pickaxe and dig into the artifact-finding fun. Oct 17, 2024 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network I don’t think this series will usurp plans for another live-action Tomb Raider movie, but producers of the next film should take a cue from the tone and style of this animated offering when developing the next big screen outing. Rated: 7/10 Oct 15, 2024 Full Review Lyvie Scott Inverse A compelling watch for hard-core fans and newbies alike, proving that game adaptations don’t always have to be hard-and-fast reboots of the source material. night o Not sure why it getting low score.it good sold show.fun . Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/18/24 Full Review Audience Member Notice how the vast, OVERWHELMING majority of the bad reviews from the audience are men? Shock, right? Grown men having public meltdowns over a character that's been humanized instead of being so boring and one dimensional are hilarious and pathetic. The writing held my attention, the overarching plot was interesting, the dialogue (while not perfect) was actually pretty good. The voice acting was great!! Thoroughly enjoyed this! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review D3Z 1 Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is decent within its character development department along with Hayley Atwell's performance, even though parts of the story could had been given more flesh. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Free S I was thinking the movies were bad... After watching this I understand they are not! It was really terrible experience! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/18/24 Full Review We'll Bring The P Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is a solid anime adaptation of the long-running video game series. While it has some issues, Hayley Atwell shines as the voice of Lara Croft, and the story overall was an intriguing journey through the supernatural. Some cg work mixed into the animation doesn’t work at times, but luckily it doesn’t happen that often. It breezes through it’s story pretty quickly, with only an 8 episode count, but in the end Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft should be an enjoyable experience for Tomb Raider fans and we are intrigued to see where the series goes for season 2. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/11/24 Full Review Anna W I cannot express how much of a disappointment this show is. I mean obviously, this lara is very unattractive, i am a straight woman and loved these games since i was 4 years old watching my brother play them. To change this character both so much in personality AND looks is atrocious. Not to mention the story writing is boring and lazy, and does not live up to the real lara. Ugly animation too. Just all around awful. And yes, lara is supposed to be curvy. Cry about it, women dont always have to be butchy or flat and skinny in shows and movies.
