TWISTED METAL, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.

Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) I’m still not sold on this video game adaptation, which unleashes automotive warfare on the highways of a post-apocalyptic America, but credit to the creative team for doubling down on the cartoonish carnage. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 18, 2025 Full Review Rafael Motamayor New York Magazine/Vulture The adaptation of the games [the show] promised. Aug 5, 2025 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com If the first season felt like an obligation to ride a wave of video game adaptations, the second feels like an honest effort to satisfy both fans of the games and those who never played them. Jul 31, 2025 Full Review Alex Hudson Exclaim! 'Twisted Metal' is a low-stakes watch that's easy to binge, but it excels in the details. Rated: 7/10 Aug 28, 2025 Full Review Julian Lytle RIOTUS ‘Twisted Metal’ Season 2 is Closer to the Games and Succeeds. Rated: B Aug 27, 2025 Full Review Tori Preston Pajiba In many ways, Twisted Metal rests on Mackie’s impressive shoulders. He’s the lead actor and also an executive producer. So much of the show relies on his game performance, his ability to shift gears at the drop of a hat, and he holds nothing back. Aug 21, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Michael N As a longtime fan of the games, this show is hilarious and does the characters justice! Love it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/25 Full Review Audience Member So much better than the first season! It introduces new characters with plenty of great gore and action, all delivered with a tongue-in-cheek style 🧐✌️ Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/29/25 Full Review Tech S The first season was good, hit a nostalgia grenade introducing staple characters and giving some backstory. The second season was a nostalgic nuke that gave me the tournaments I dreamed of, the characters I wanted to see and was in essence incredibly executed. The acting is great, incredible cast chosen to play the characters, Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Samoa Joe/Will Arnett all return to keep up the stellar performances. So does a fan favorite Stu and Anthony Carrigan is a wonderful Calypso. A few of the incredible actors joining them Michael James Shaw as Axel and Saylor Bell Curda as Mayhem are absolutely awesome. The action is all there. The crew does an incredible job with the fight scenes, car battles, explosions just WOW! Seeing this game series come to life in a bingeworthy show has been worth it! Absolute props to the writing for taking it seriously in this dark world, but embracing the humorous insanity that is the world of Twisted Metal. It is rare I find myself smiling or chuckling at shows these days but moments of this show really got me, which made me think that the writers understood the assignment wholeheartedly. The humor, darkness, grittiness all of it. The soundtrack chosen is totally par for the course and wonderful. Overall, just everyone working on this project is doing incredible and their passion to bring one of my favorite childhood game franchises that I thought was too crazy to make it's way to Show status to life. Sincerely, I thank them for working so hard to drop possibly my favorite Video Game to Show adaptations of all time. I hope for and cannot wait for a Season 3. Who knows? If we get lucky maybe the hype will lead to a new game! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/25 Full Review Mike D. Both seasons have successfully blended a diverse array of games, infused with refreshing new elements. If a season 3 is on the horizon, it would be fantastic to incorporate vehicles that have yet to make an appearance, such as Warthog, Auger, and Thumper. Additionally, including humorous elements like The Joneses and Microblast would perfectly align with the show's tone and add to its charm. However, strongly believe they should reevaluate Minion’s character. It felt rushed and underdeveloped, as if they ran out of budget towards the end, detracting from the overall experience. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/25 Full Review Mars A How is this not 8 out 5 stars!? What an awesome show! Just crazy ridiculous fun! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/25 Full Review Bane M I really enjoyed it!!!! Sweet Tooth 🔥🤡 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/25 Full Review Read all reviews
