Arthur Lake

Arthur Lake was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In his early acting career, Lake appeared in such films as "Where Was I?" (1925), "Skinner's Dress Suit" (1926) and "The Irresistible Lover" (1927). He also appeared in "The Count of Ten" (1928), "The Air Circus" (1928) and the adaptation "On With the Show" (1929) with Betty Compson. His film career continued throughout the thirties in productions like the drama "Annapolis Salute" (1937) with James Ellison, "Topper" (1937) with Constance Bennett and "23 1/2 Hours Leave" (1937) with James Ellison. He also appeared in the drama "Exiled to Shanghai" (1937) with Wallace Ford. In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in "Blondie Plays Cupid" (1940), "Blondie Has Servant Trouble" (1940) and "Blondie Goes Latin" (1941). He also appeared in "Blondie in Society" (1941) and "Blondie's Blessed Event" (1942). Lake more recently acted in "Blondie's Reward" (1949). Lake was married to Patricia Van Cleve. Lake passed away in January 1987 at the age of 82.
