David Sanborn
David Sanborn was born on July 30, 1945, and became a renowned saxophonist known for his smooth jazz and fusion styles. He started playing the saxophone at the age of 11 and gained prominence in the 1970s with his album "Taking Off" (1977), which featured the hit single "The Whisperer." Throughout his career, Sanborn released several successful albums, including "Swamp Thing" (1984), "Straight to the Heart" (1986), and "Close-Up" (1992). He collaborated with numerous artists, including David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder. Sanborn was also known for his television work, serving as the host of "Michelob Presents Sunday Night" on NBC from 1988 to 1990. Additionally, he made guest appearances on shows such as "Good Morning America" (ABC, 1975-) and "The Late Show with David Letterman" (CBS, 1993-2015). Saborn's music also featured in many soundtracks, such as, "Lethal Weapon 4" (1998). His contributions to music earned him multiple Grammy Awards, solidifying his legacy in the jazz genre.
