George Lloyd
George Lloyd was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Lloyd began his acting career with roles in such films as "Freckles" (1935), "Bulldog Edition" (1936) and "Idol of the Crowds" (1937). He also appeared in the mystery "Mr. Wong, Detective" (1938) with Boris Karloff, "Torchy Blane in Panama" (1938) and "Prison Train" (1938). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties, appearing in the James Cagney drama "City For Conquest" (1940), "Blues in the Night" (1941) with Priscilla Lane and the dramedy "Rings on Her Fingers" (1942) with Henry Fonda. He also appeared in the Shirley Temple Black romance "Miss Annie Rooney" (1942). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Jim Bannon crime flick "The Missing Juror" (1944), "Boston Blackie Booked on Suspicion" (1945) and "Fog Island" (1945). He also appeared in "White Pongo" (1945) and the Roy Rogers musical "Home in Oklahoma" (1946). Lloyd last acted in "I'll Cry Tomorrow" (1955) with Susan Hayward. Lloyd passed away in August 1967 at the age of 75.
