Georgina Haig
Winning over children with the Australian fantasy series "The Elephant Princess," young adults on the fantasy drama "Once Upon a Time," and mature audiences through her work in shows like "Fringe," Georgina Haig quickly wrangled every conceivable demographic into her fandom. Born Georgina Hagg in Melbourne, Australia, on August 3, 1985, the big screen hopeful pursued acting studies at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Shortly after graduation in 2008, Haig kicked off her career with work in some short films. Her initial step toward the limelight came with the Australian crime series "Underbelly" (Nine 2008- ). Haig appeared in six episodes across the second and third seasons of the dramatic program as Georgina Freeman, wife to Peter O'Brien's more prominent recurring character George. In 2010, Haig won her first starring part in a feature film with the supernatural horror flick "Road Kill," in which she and costars Bob Morley, Sophie Lowe, and Xavier Samuel incurred the wrath of a haunted locomotive. Haig followed "Road Kill" with a supporting role in the high school drama "Wasted on the Young" (2011). More wholesome fare found Haig the following year when Australia's Nine Network planted her in the main cast of the children's television series "The Elephant Princess" (Nine 2008-2011). Haig joined the show in the second season as Zamira, younger sister to Richard Brancatisano's Caleb and occasional rival to series heroine Alex (Emily Robins). Following the conclusion of her stint on "The Elephant Princess", Haig's resume became rather eclectic. She headed the largely unseen dark drama "Crawl" (2011) and enjoyed a substantial stint on J.J. Abrams' cult favorite series "Fringe" (Fox 2008-2013) (playing Agent Henrietta Bishop in the fourth and fifth seasons of the program). Additionally, Haig had a small role in the celebrated biographical film "The Sapphires" (2012). In 2013, Haig tried her hand at comedy, joining the Australian sketch series "The Elegant Gentleman's Guide to Knife Fighting" (ABC1 2013). Although many of her exploits around this time on screens both big and small did not find terrific success-her crime drama "Reckless" (CBS 2014) was canceled after only a few months-Haig did land the coveted role of "Frozen" (2013) star Elsa on the ABC fantasy series "Once Upon a Time" (ABC 2011- ). Haig joined the show at the dawn of its fourth season, in September 2014.
