Born in Harlem, NYC, Gleendilys Inoa wanted to act from the age of 10. Her 10th grade history teacher at Bronx Lab High School introduced her to actor Manny Perez ("Bella," 2006, "Third Watch," NBC, 1999-2005) who was struck by her passion for the art and seeing real potential in the young actress became her mentor. Unfortunately her performance in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" (2003) didn't make the final cut, but the experience helped Inoa land the lead in post-9/11 drama "Don't Let Me Drown" (2009) which won serval awards on the festival circuit (including San Francisco International Film Festival and the Woodstock Film Festival). Inoa also busted a move featuring in music videos for Lupe Fiasco and Karina Pasian. She followed this initial success with "A Kiss of Chaos" (2009), "Gun Hill Road" (2011), and "Yelling to the Sky" (2011) before Spike Lee's HBO pilot "Da Brick" (2011) alongside future co-star Elvis Nolasco. Regrettably John Ridley's boxing drama wasn't commissioned for a full series. Cast in her first recurring TV role in short lived sitcom "Saint George" (FX, 2014), she next landed a role in ABC's hard hitting drama "American Crime" (2015-) coincidently also starring Nolasco and written by Ridley.
