Greg Plitt
An on-screen personality who made his love of physical endurance into the heart of his career as a performer, Greg Plitt became interested in fitness in the sixth grade, when his father bought a home gym. The Maryland native channeled this enthusiasm into success on his high school wrestling team before his sister's accomplishments at the Naval Academy in Annapolis inspired him to set his sights on attending the United States Military Academy at West Point. Plitt would graduate from the institution in 2000 and spend five years serving as a Ranger in the United States Army before turning his attention toward Hollywood. Plitt soon discovered that his own innate combination of adventure-seeking eagerness and hard-nosed discipline made him an ideal fitness trainer and motivational speaker, helping clients reach their fitness goals. He also began using his own physical prowess to begin a career as a model, posing for such prestigious brands as Calvin Klein. Plitt soon broke into acting as well, scoring a role in the period drama "The Good Shepherd" (2006), and bringing his own unique personality to the mix of characters on the gym-based reality series "Work Out" (Bravo, 2006-2008). Tragically, Plitt's life was cut short on January 15, 2015, when he was struck and killed by a train while filming an advertisement in which he attempted to race a locomotive on foot. He was 37 years old.
