Heikko Deutschmann

Actor Heikko Deutschmann is a regular presence on German television, where he can often be found portraying a doctor. Deutschmann attended drama school in Berlin during the early 1980s, and soon thereafter began to win film and TV roles while also appearing in stage productions at Hamburg's renowned Thalia Theater. Following a key part in the TV movie "Walkman Blues," he was featured in a number of films, including the youth drama "Zischke" and the action movie "Den demokratiske terroristen," starring Stellan Skarsgård. By the late 1990s, Deutschmann was a guest star on various TV series, including the crime shows "Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei" and "Der letzte Zeuge," as well as a frequent player in made-for-TV movies such as the thriller "Sweet Little Sixteen" and the World War II-era drama "Coming Home," with the latter a rare foray into English-language work. Among his many physician roles are Dr. Hendrik Levi in "Nicht ohne deine Liebe" and Dr. Alexander Becker in "Zodiac Sign," both dramas, as well as Dr. Alfred Katelbach in the big-screen 2008 comedy "Waiting for Angelina." Deutschmann is arguably best known, however, for his part as the kindhearted veterinarian Dr. Philip Hansen on the kid-friendly Bavarian-set show "Tiere bis unters Dach," which utilizes the actor's considerable charm.
