Green is an American camera operator turned director of photography who is noted for his somber visual sensibility and long, fruitful collaboration with Clint Eastwood. He was a former assistant to acclaimed cinematographer Bruce Surtees who preceded him as Eastwood's collaborator of choice. Green's camera operator credits include such Eastwood-directed films as "The Gauntlet" (1977), "Bronco Billy" (1980), "Firefox" (1982), "Honkytonk Man" (1982), "Sudden Impact" (1983) and "Pale Rider" (1985). Green also operated the camera for other Eastwood vehicles: "Every Which Way But Loose" (1978), "Any Which Way You Can" (1980), "Tightrope" (1984), and "City Heat" (1984). His other credits as a camera operator include Walter Hill's "48 hours" (1982), Tony Richardson's "The Border" (1981), "Risky Business" (1983), "Beverly Hills Cop" (1984), and Sandra Locke's "Ratboy" (1986).
