Originally from Toronto, Canada, actor Jeff Wincott worked steadily in both TV and movies in a career that began in 1979. His first regular role was in the series "Night Heat" (CTV, 1985-1989) as hot-headed Detective Frank Giambone, which earned Wincott an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series nomination at the 1986 Gemini Awards. The recognition led to an extensive film career in the United States. Wincott starred in more than a dozen martial arts films, including "Mission of Justice" (1992), "Martial Outlaw" (1993) and "Last Man Standing" (1995). He was also featured in the high-budget action films "S.W.A.T.," (2003), "The Invasion" (2007) and "Unstoppable" (2010). In the independent film "Kringle Time" (2021), Wincott played Mayor Rodney Jorkins, for which he was nominated in the best supporting actor category at the 2021 GenreBlast Film Festival. He has acted in numerous TV series, including "24" (Fox, 2001-10), "The Wire" (HBO, 2002-08), "NCIS" (CBS, 2003- ),"Sons of Anarchy" (FX, 2008-14), "The Good Wife" (CBS, 2009-16), "Blue Bloods" (CBS, 2010- ), "Person of Interest" (CBS, 2011-16), "The Lizzie Borden Chronicles" (Lifetime, 2015), and "The Night Of" (HBO, 2016). In 2019, Wincott and his wife founded production company Hollow Metropolis Films. Their award-winning short films "Ping Pong Pigeons" (2018), "Platitudes" (2019) and "Dystopian Snow Globe" (2020) have been screened internationally. The Wincotts co-produced their first feature, "The Issue With Elvis," with Jeff playing the leading role, Dr. Mercer. He was honored as Best Actor for his performance at the Hollywood Women's International Film Festival, the Montgomery International Film Festival, and the Toronto Beaches Film Festival. Scheduled to be released in 2022, the project won more than 10 film festival awards in 2021, including two for Best Feature. Wincott's story about his own addiction recovery was told in a documentary he co-produced, "Fall Fight Shine." It won Best Documentary Feature at the 2021 Hollywood Women's International Film Festival.
