Jeff York
Jeff York was a big screen film actor known for powerful performances. York kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the drama "They Were Expendable" (1945) with Robert Montgomery, the Lana Turner crime drama "The Postman Always Rings Twice" (1946) and the drama "Alias Mr. Twilight" (1946) with Michael Duane. He also appeared in "Fear in the Night" (1947), the drama "The Yearling" (1947) with Gregory Peck and "Panhandle" (1948). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the fifties, appearing in the sports comedy "Kill the Umpire" (1950) with William Bendix, "The Lady Says No" (1952) and the historical film "Demetrius and the Gladiators" (1954) with Victor Mature. He also appeared in "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates" (1956) with Fess Parker. York was most recently credited in "Rides with Jason Priestley" (2003-05). In the fifties through the nineties, York lent his talents to projects like "The Saga of Andy Burnett" (ABC, 1957-58), "The Alaskans" (ABC, 1959-1960) and "Unsolved Mysteries" (CBS, 1988-2009). His credits also expanded to "Making Sense of the Sixties" (PBS, 1990-91). York passed away in October 1995 at the age of 83.
