Actress Jodie Comer impressed with supporting roles in "My Mad Fat Diary" (E4, 2013-15) and "Doctor Foster" (BBC One, 2015-) before taking center stage in abduction drama "Thirteen" (BBC Three, 2016) and historical epic "The White Princess" (Starz, 2017). Born in Liverpool, England in 1993, Comer began her career with a part in a BBC Radio 4 play, and after getting an agent appeared on screen for the first time in an episode of short-lived medical soap "The Royal Today" (ITV1, 2008). Comer then guested on similar shows "Doctors" (BBC One, 2000-), "Holby City" (BBC One, 1999-) and "Casualty" (BBC One, 1986-) and landed recurring roles on legal drama "Justice" (BBC One, 2011) and crime procedural "Silent Witness" (BBC One, 1996-). In 2013 Comer was cast as Rae's long-time best friend Chloe Gemell in "My Mad Fat Diary" (E4, 2013-15), the acclaimed adaptation of Rae Earl's teenage memoir. During her three-season stint on the show, Comer also played teenage care assistant Hannah Ward in supernatural drama "Remember Me" (BBC One, 2014), guested on an episode of Brenda Blethyn's crime drama "Vera" (ITV1, 2011-) and starred as Clifford's nursemaid Ivy Bolton in TV movie "Lady Chatterley's Lover" (BBC One, 2015). After playing 'the other woman,' Kate Parks, in the revenge thriller "Doctor Foster" (BBC One, 2015-), Comer elicited far more sympathy with audiences when she starred as Ivy Moxam, a woman who struggles to adjust back into society after escaping from the cellar she's been kept imprisoned in for half her life, in miniseries "Thirteen" (BBC Three, 2016). After playing another victim, the ill-fated Beryl Evans, in the serial killer dramatization "Rillington Place" (BBC One, 2016), Comer was cast as the first Tudor Queen, Elizabeth of York, in the adaptation of Philippa Gregory's novel, "The White Princess" (Starz, 2017). Later that same year she took on the role of Morrissey's tax office colleague Christine in the biopic of The Smiths' frontman, "England Is Mine" (2017).
