Jonathan Majors
Actor Jonathan Majors vaulted from experienced theater actor to up-and-coming film and television star with significant roles in a series of projects in 2017, including "Hostiles" (2017) and the ABC miniseries "When We Rise" (2017). Born Jonathan Michael Majors on September 7, 1989 in Dallas, Texas, Majors received his bachelor's degree in acting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts while also appearing in numerous theater productions throughout the southern United States. While at the university, he co-starred in a filmed production of William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing," which was broadcast on North Carolina public television in 2013. After completing his studies, Major pursued his master's degree from Yale University, where he was also a staple of their theater productions. After a season with the esteemed Chautauqua Theatre Company in New York, Majors' film and television career took off in 2017 with supporting roles in the Western drama "Hostiles," with Christian Bale, and the science fiction thriller "Captive State" (2018) with Vera Farmiga. Majors was also cast that year as a youthful version of San Francisco activist Ken Jones in "When We Rise," a miniseries about the rise of gay activism from writer Dustin Lance Black.
