Jonathan Torrens
Canadian television personality Jonathan Torrens has long been a fixture on the pop culture map up north, both as himself and as the crazed aspiring rapper, J-Roc, on the cult comedy show "Trailer Park Boys." Long before his white-rapping alter ego caused a comedy ruckus with his not-so-def jams, the actor was a co-host on the teen-oriented program "Street Cents," which was designed to give helpful financial advice to teenagers, showing how to start a business and manage money responsibly, and also to act as a decision-making guide for teens on what and what not to purchase. Torrens was a teenager himself when he was cast in the show in 1989, and it opened up several career opportunities when he left, including hosting the teen talk show "Jonovision" and co-starring in the second season of the innovative fake-reality program "Joe Schmo." He has appeared on the shows "Pit Pony," "Degrassi: The Next Generation," and the gay-themed feature film "Beefcake." Torrens is also the co-writer of the short film "Nan's Taxi," directed by "Trailer Park Boys" creator Mike Clattenburg."
