Josie Jay was born in 2001 in Sacramento, California. She began acting in local productions in Davis, CA, and began her professional acting career in 2010 when she appeared in an "Awesomeness TV" production. In 2013 she was cast in a recurring role on the Disney Channel series "Jessie" (Disney, 2011-15). Jay went on to appear in a number of other television shows such as "Liv and Maddie" (Disney, 2013-17), "New Girl" (FOX, 2011-18),  and "2 Broke Girls" (CBS, 2011-17). In 2013 it was announced that Jay would appear as a principal character in the ABC series "Back in the Game" (ABC, 2013). The show was cancelled after one season. Jay also appeared in the sixth season of "Glee" (Fox, 2009-2015) for four episodes. Jay made her film debut in 2016 with the movie "Time Toys" (2016). She followed that effort up in 2016 with her second movie "Other People" (2016). The movie received critical acclaim, as did her performance, and Jay was praised as one of the year's Sundance Breakout Stars. In 2017 it was announced that Jay would join the cast of Mindy Kaling's comedy "Champions" (NBC, 2018).
