Kai Owen
Kai Owen first made his mark as an actor on Welsh television programs such as the critically acclaimed drama "Treflan" and the long-running series "Tipyn O Stad." A native of Llanrwst, North Wales, Owen emerged as a fixture of Welsh regional theater before making his London stage debut in the zany comedy "Ying Tong: a Walk with the Goons." He made the leap to television acting, first on Welsh-language programs for the S4C network, and later as a series regular on the BBC drama "Rocket Man." But the actor is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Rhys Williams on the award-winning "Doctor Who" series spin-off, "Torchwood," his character a crucial link between the show's fantasy themes and the real world. While Owen's character was originally slated to be written off at the end of the first season, in later seasons he's taken a central role in the cast, with his appearance in the show's third season (2009) elevated to star billing.
